7/01 Notes: ^_^ Thanks for checking out my translations! These are from Chinese 
to English, so my accuracy and speed is a *whole lot* better than my 
Japanese-English attempts. But then again, the downside is that I don't know the 
character's names!! I've looked them up on kimmiez's old gmc site (thank 
goodness!), but for little things like the title of companies and such, I sort 
of take the translator's initiative and ^_^;; come up with my own titles (much 
easier than looking them up). Also, I'm rather befuddled with the currency 
issue. I'm converting it from Taiwan dollars to US ones (using Lijaka's currency 
converter ^_-), but all the prices seem way cheaper than they should be. Anybody 
who knows which currency they're using, please tell me! And if anybody would 
like to correct me on names or something, that would be greatly appreciated! 
Okay, I'll stop blabbering now ^_- Any comments are entirely welcome!

Nao's Mom: A girl in her senior year of high school, living by herself, of 
course I'm worried! In fact, I'm still not too keen on the idea.
Nao: C'mon, *now* you say that? Haven't we already settled this? And besides, 
I've already moved out and all!
Nao's mom: About that, the movers are coming this afternoon to drop off your 
stuff… Remember! If anything happens, I'm coming to pick you up.
Nao: I know! Mom, the airplane should be there soon, so I'm hanging up now. Bye 
bye!
Nao: Geez, what a worry wart.
Marina: Nao, you done talking on the phone?
Nao: Marina! Mi-chan!
Marina: Was it your mom?
Nao: M-hm. She bought me a cell phone, which is nice but she pesters so much.
Marin: What's wrong with humoring your mother?
Nao: True, and starting today, I live by myself! And not only that, fall break 
begins tomorrow!
Marina: You can party till it hurts~
Nao: You got that right~
Mi-chan: Wait, so why are you living alone?
Nao: Because my grandfather hurt his back, and so my dad went to his farm to 
help him out. But I've still got a semester left before I graduate, so I stay 
here. Besides…
Mi-chan: Besides?
Nao: My grandfather's place is hicksville. It's fun to visit once in awhile, but 
not to live there. The only way to get around is by train, and it only leaves 
every 40 minutes and the last train is only at 7 pm. And to watch a movie, you 
have to go really, really far.
Marina: Well, I'm really glad you're staying here.
Nao: Marina…
Mi-chan: Ack!! Marina!! Don't forget!! Did you bring it?
Marina: Oh, I almost forgot! Luckily you reminded me! Tada~ It's a housewarming 
gift!
Nao: Ah… Wa~ I'm so happy!! Can I open it?
Marina & Mi-chan: OK.
Nao: ….. What is it?
<sound FX: gift being unwrapped>

Marina: For a girl living alone, it's the best way to protect herself from 
thieves and such!
Mi-chan: Just hang it by the window, and would-be criminals will think there's a 
guy at home. And plush, you can use them as shorts! What… you don't like it?
Marina: Hello! Nao…?
Nao: U… HAHAHAHHAHA! What is this~ You guys prepared *this* for me?
Marina: Whew, she likes it!
Mi-chan: She's so funny, taking that long to react.
Nao: That's hilarious! Aw geez, tears are you coming out! Thanks, guys!
Mi-chan: And nobody's worn that pair yet!
Nao: Hmm…? Are you sure that these aren't your old boxers, huh?
Marina: What? I can't believe you, Mi-chan!
Mi-chan: Stop making stuff up~!
Nao: I should be heading back. The movers are coming at noon. Once I get settled 
in, I'm inviting you guys over to hang out!
Nao: Room 305. Here it is.
<sound FX: doki doki (heartbeat)>
<sound FX: door slamming open)>
Nao: Whoa~ Alright, let's check this out! Wa! A whole set of kitchen cabinets 
And what a huge bathroom! 150 square foot living room, and two 100 square foot 
bedrooms! Plus air conditioning! From this day forward, this place is mine~ I'm 
a little bit worried But still really happy!
<sound FX: door opening>
Nao: Are the movers here already?
Nao & Uehara: …..
Nao: <Whoa! What a young mover.> <Is he actually working?> <but somehow, he 
looks familiar…> <Who is he? Is he an actor or something??> <hmm…>
Uehara: Ey! Are you listening?
Nao: Huh? Sorry, I wasn't listening Aheh, could you please repeat.
Uehara: I asked you, what are you doing here?
Nao: What am I… Starting today, I live here.
Uehara: What do you mean by that? I'm the one who's going to be living here.
Nao: Huh?
Uehara: Maybe you've got the wrong apartment. So! Out you go!
Nao: Wait…
Nao: Hold on, hold on! You're the one who's wrong!
Uehara: Geez, you're loud~ I'm not wrong, I have apartment 305.
Nao: I have 305, too!
Uehara: How could that be~
Shady Glen Movers: Afternoon! Shady Glen Movers here!
Global Moving Service: Global Moving Service here!
Movers: Is it okay if I put the bed here? How about the TV? I'll put the clothes 
in this room!
Movers: Well then, we're off! Thank you very much!

Nao: <Well, they sure move fast> That's strange, I wonder what went wrong?
Uehara: I"ll call the agency and ask.
Nao: Want to use my phone?
Uehara: un… 582…
<sound FX: beep! Beep!>
Phone: We're sorry, the number you have dialed has been disconnected.
Uehara: What the hell's going on!?
Nao: Ah!
Uehara: That's not stopping me, I’m going to find and talk to them! You, come 
with me!
Nao: Okay!

<sound FX: paper blowing by>
Uehara: What the hell~
Nao: How did this…
Uehara: We gotta clear this up!
Nao: Huh? To where?
Uehara: To the landlord!
Nao: Wa… wait up… It's so hot…

<sound FX: Uehara's hat falling on Nao's head>
Uehara: C'mon!
Nao: Un! Thanks! <I keep thinking…> <That I've seen his face before.>
Landlady: What? Happy Day Real Estate? Never heard of them. Oh my, oh my, oh my
Uehara: Well it seems they've rented the apartment out to two people…
Nao: mm… green tea's the best!
Landlady: Well, that's not good. But, as long as I get the monthly 10,500 
dollars rent, I have no complaints.
[translator's notes: that's 10,500 Taiwan dollars, translating to roughly 300 US 
dollars. That's cheap, I don't know why they're making such a big deal @_@!!]

Uehara: Ten… ten thousand five hundred~!? How is that possible!!
Nao: But, it was written as 800!
Landlady: Where can you find a decent apartment for 800 dollars? But then again, 
on a random guess, maybe Happy Day Real Estate ran off with your money. Oh dear, 
you've spilled your tea.
Uehara: Damn! We've been swindled!

Nao: Oh~!!
Uehara: Wa! What is it?
Nao: I've got it! There's no mistake about it, it's you! Uehara-san! From class 
A, Uehara Hisashi! Right!?
Uehara: Yes…
Nao: Right! We go to the same school! I'm in class K, Koshikawa Nao! Ever heard 
of me?
Uehara: No… I don't know you…
Nao: Well, our classes are far apart, so of course you don't know me. But you're 
famous, so I know you.
Uehara: Famous?
Nao: Wow! This is the first time I"ve seen you up close. I get to tell everybody 
at school tomorrow!
Uehara: Tell everybody?
Nao: Ack! Oh darn, tomorrow's the first day of break! I can think of a way to do 
this, though.
Uehara: Landlady-san, please think of a way to clear this up. Hmm… and I've got 
to think of a way to pay rent now… What with 800 dollars becoming 10,500 
dollars…
Landlady: Is that so… Why don't the two of you just live together?
<carefree>
Uehara: I don't want to…
Nao: I can just use the telephone; that should be okay. Or maybe I should have a 
sort of get-together…
Uehara: What a pain…
Nao: This is such a pain…
Uehara: Whether I move to a different apartment or stay here, I'm paying more 
than I had anticipated. And I've already used up all my money…
Nao: Well, you can't go home and ask for money?
Uehara: No!
Nao: <His mood just changed all of a sudden…> <Maybe he's got family problems 
back home!>
Uehara: What about you? Can you get money?
Nao: I… ah!
Nao's mom: If anything happens, I’m coming to pick you up!
Nao: <If Mom catches drift of this,> <She'll definitely take me away.> I… I 
can't get any money from home, either. Hahahaha!
<sound FX: phone rings>
Nao: Oh! I'll go pick that up. Hello?
Nao's mom: Nao? It's Mom.
Nao: <Wa!>
Nao's mom: Have you unpacked yet?
Nao: Un! All unpacked! Totally done!
Nao's mom: You sound a bit funny…? Your voice is cracking…
Nao: No it isn't! I’m gonna take a shower now, bye!
Nao: Whew~ <No… I need to stay strong! Even if I'm about to die, I won't shed a 
tear.> <There must be some way through this.> <But how!?> <What would be a good 
solution?>
Landlady: Why don't the two of you just live together?
Nao: Well… there's always that option.
Uehara: Huh?
Nao: Okay. Let's just move in together. No problem. Un! That way we only need to 
pay half the costs and still live here! Not bad, huh?
Uehara: Don’t…
Uehara: Don't joke around like that! Are you serious? Do you know what you're 
saying?
Nao: Of course I do! What's the problem? We'd have our own rooms. Plus, we go to 
the same school, so we sort of know each other. And it's not like this is 
forever. We can move out once we find better places. In college, I plan on 
living in the dorms so the longest I can stay here is half a year, anyway.

Uehara: Over my dead body!
Nao: But…
Nao: I don't have anywhere else to go…
Uehara: Eh!? Hey… stop crying…
Nao: We've already sold our old house. And my family's so far away…
Uehara: Fine!
Nao: Victory! That was fake crying. I guess he just can't handle a girl's tears.

Student: Ah! It's Uehara Hisashi! Kyaa~ He stands out so much~ He's tall, and 
thin, too!

Pizza man: That totals 420 dollars.
Uehara: Thanks.
Nao: <ooh, smells nice.> Ah, pizza! I love pizza.
Uehara: Huh? I didn't get you any.
Nao: But, you ordered so much…
Uehara: I just eat that much. You got a problem with that?
<sound FX: door slamming>
Nao: <That jerk…> <Yugh! Greedy much!> <With that much food, how could be 
possibly eat it all?> <If he does, he'll get diarrhea!>
<sound FX: stomach grumbling>
Nao: <I'm hungry.> <I'll buy something at the convenience store.>
Nao: <yawn> <After a good night's sleep, I feel a lot better.> <But now I have 
to remember how much of a pain the situation is.> <And perhaps how rushed it

Geez, it's already noon. Hey, your phone~
Nao: Hello~ Dork! Get the phone already!
<sound FX: door slamming open>
Nao: Don't you think it's about time to wake up?
Uehara: nn… Yuri?
Nao: Huh? Who's Yuri?
Nao: ~~!!?? Augh!? <Yuri!> You… you've got the wrong person!
