Chapter 6 Title: 1st Year Class B Takes First Place.

The front illustration has Rika, Sahara, Okami, and Jimiko in volleyball
uniforms. The uniforms sport a 1 - B above a "V" on top of a silhouette of
a kangaroo head. Rika holds two fingers up in the victory mode.

Bell rings.

Rika: Okami-kun!

Rika: Where're you going? We're going to be starting special training after
class.

Okami: I told you I'm NOTgonna play!

Sahara: Toss!

Okami reacts and spikes the ball.

Rika: I just KNOW that you want to play.

Okami: That only happened from playing volleyball for so long...a
conditioned response. Why'd ya make me do that, Sahara?!

Rika: I heard about last year's incident.

Rika: You got in a fight with the volleyball upperclassmen and sent them
all to the hospital. Cool. I knew you'd be a gang leader.

In the Japanese system of gangs, usually the leader is the strongest one.

Rika remembers Miketani talking: Back then, the rumor has it that the
Volleyball team upperclassmen had gone way too far harassing the
underclassmen. The principal considered the situation and saved him from
being thrown out of school.

She's still dropping the "u" in Jakou so that it STILL comes out "baby
sardines".

Rika: Jako(u)-sensei doesn't know the situation involved?

Okami: That battleax, nothing I could say that would change her mind.

Okami remembers:

Jakou: There's nothing wrong with training newcomers. It's the way to keep
our club going.

Her comment above isn't about HER training newcomers but the
upperclassmens' cruel harassments of the kohai (underclassmen).

Sign: Okami back then. (His hair is short!)

Jakou: Isn't it just that you just have a resistance to authority?

Rika thinks: That's....

Flashback:

Upperclassman to Okami: Heard you squealed on us to the coach. Today we're
going to give the "special treatment" so that you can never do it again.

Okami becomes Yuuyake Bancho. He's character from an old animation who
fought a lot. Again, the word "bancho" is "gang leader". It's what Rika
calls Okami. This is probably Rika's imagination making him look like that.

Okami: You guys are inhuman!

A dignified Yuuyake Bancho character walks away with bodies strewn on the
ground.

Sign: Yuuyake Bancho - The End.

Rika's seen telling the students in her class the whole story.

Rika: And that's the way it happened.

Okami: Wait! The middle part (of the story) she's making up from her own
imagination! Just when did all of you show up?

Sign: First Year Class B students.

Everyone's astonished: I seeee.

Guy: Cool. All by himself, he sent all those upperclassmen to the hospital.
That's what it takes to be a gang leader.

Girl, who previous said maybe he wasn't strong: May he IS strong.

Rika: Now Everyone, don't worry!!.

Rika: Though Okami-kun looks like the type to, he never harasses the weak.
He's a Gang Leader of Justice. I guarantee it! Rika manually pulls his face
into a smile with her fingers. Hey Gang Leader, smile, smile.

Okami: What're you DOING, damn you?!

Everyone is laughing because it looks so much like a comedy.

Rika: No more playing the lone wolf! Let's just look down on Jako(u)-sensei
instead!!

Masatomo tells me this is because Jakou has been looking down on them.

Rika: BEAT CLASS C! AIM FOR FIRST PLACE!

Sahara: Hm, she doesn't discriminate against any of her students and takes
care of them all...that's a teacher.

Rika: Hm? "That's a teacher?"

Rika: Mmmm! We're burning with spirit!!

A teacher's meeting is in progress.

Sign: Meeting Room.

Teacher: These pamphlets have the schedule for the End of the Century
Shishimaru Cup '99. Anyone have questions?

Rika thinks: With Okami-kun so it's not out of the question to take first
place.

Rika: Principal, what's the first place prize?

Miketani: She didn't listen to what the others have said at all.

Kagetora: It's a secret.

Kagetora: It'll be all that much more enjoyable to find out after winning.
Well, that's it for today. Breakup.

Teacher: Will you listen to me?

Rika thinks: A pen fell under the desk.

Rika finds a hidden mike.

Rika thinks: This..is..just like what I've seen in dramas or movies.

Miketani: Something the matter, Rikacchi? (nickname)

Rika: No-no-nothing.

Rika thinks: Can't be. Given what I know, the one most likely to do this
is...

Rika: HEY YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! Get yourself to the back school
grounds without further ado!!

Sahara was just outside the window so he talks to her through the window
instead.

Sahara: Your voice was plenty strong enough that I could have heard you
without it. (yelling into the mike)

Rika: Sahara-kun, I figured it would be you!

Sahara: Yelling in front of a lab, could cause trouble.

Rika: Don't change the subject! You had a microphone hidden in there. Just
what were your plans for it? You heard all about me being suspended because
of you bugged the place!

Sahara: An old habit. Nothing to worry about. I won't steal answers again.

Rika: Course you won't!! I'll just confiscate this!!

Sahara thinks: That's okay. I have others.

Rika: Sahara-kun, is school still boring you?

Sahara: No time to be bored because of a certain someone and a pain in the
butt thing like a tournament beginning soon.

Rika: You're talking that way again. I'm really looking forward to it
because it's the first time that Sahara-kun and I can do something
together.

Rika innocently grabs his hands in hers.

Rika: That's why I want to win really badly. Yesterday's enemy is today's
friend. About the past, whatever happened then, let's flush it away and do
our best together.

Sahara: Ye-ye-yeah.

Rika: We've made a pact! It's about time for special training so get your
clothes changed right away.

Jakou-sensei: Sahara-kun...

Sahara: Jakou-sensei.

Jakou: May I have a word with you?

Rika: Tadah! Thank goodness our uniforms are done in time.

Okami: Do I have to wear it too?

Rika: Sure do!

Sign on Garuko and Kanta: They're wearing the uniform too.

Rika thinks: If we win first place, we'll find ourselves getting along
better, won't we, Sahara-kun?

Jakou-sensei: These are the photos that I told my student, Tanaka, to take.
I knew the rumor about selling exam answers. If I let the cat out of the
bag about it, all hell will break loose.

Sahara: Are you trying to threaten me?

Jakou: Oh, how scandalous of me. But there's a difference between
"student's rumor" and a teachers testimony. (She means people are going to
believe HER over him).

Jakou thinks: The hateful brat doesn't even look upset about it.

Jakou: Don't worry, I just want to ensure Class C wins this tournament. I
just want to show off my leadership abilities before taking this year's
exam for Vice-Principal.

Jakou: If you keep quiet and help me, you'll be able to remain a student in
good standing. How about it?

Sahara thinks: She's wrong if she thinks I didn't prepare for this
eventuality...

Sahara thinks: ...but this enemy can get nasty so... if I'm going to get
taken advantage of by a teacher, I'd rather be expelled instead. I wonder
how my father, mother, and uncle will react. Sounds good. I've gotten tired
of all the games.

Rika throws a ball at his head.

Sahara thinks: What's so special about school.

Rika grins with unbridled enthusiasm.

Rika: YOUUUU'RE LAAAAAATE!, SAHARA-KUN!

Guy: Rika-chan, you're SO bad.

Girl: It's kind of cold to be wearing short shorts.

Rika: What? Is it gonna hurt that much?

Sahara: That uniform doesn't look so hot.

Rika makes the sounds of being peeved.

Girls: Sahara-kun's being playful with Rika-chan. How different. Now he
seems no different than any other boy.

Sign: Now the day of the tournament.

Kagetora: Morning! Are you brats ready to get started. Now begins the End
Of The Century Shishimaru Cup '99.

Kagetora: Do your best to win the Super Fantastic Luxury Prize.

Rika: YES SIR!!

Jakou: Hey, what're you so excited about and why the shorts? Teachers can't
take part in the tournament.

Rika: You're lying. Why? I'm registered as a team member.

Jakou: Stay out of it!

Kagetora: It's all right. We have no regulations that says a teacher can't
participate.

Jakou: Principal!

Okami: You battleax, shut the hell up.

Rika: Now, now Jako(u)-sensei if you have a problem with us, why don't we
settle with the game.

Jakou: Fine by me.

Kikyounomiya: Yurinosono-san, please show them the superior ability of the
second year students.

Yurinosono: Leave it to me. Thunder bolt of Versailles Serve!

Rika: That's an easy one (to catch), Senpai! Blue Mountains Receive!

Note: The names of the skills don't mean a thing.

Rika: Rika-chan's class is invincible! Don't look down on Class B's
teamwork.

Rika make a pose.

Sahara: Don't be posing.

Guys: We're also team members.

Guy: That's cool. First Year Class B are beating the favorites, the second
year team.

Guy: A guy named, Okami, is getting all the points by himself. Rika-chan's
something else.

Miketani is holding a teacup on a tray that says "Yamato".

Miketani: Ah haaa, I can see why Jako(u)-sensei was worried about going
against Okami now.

Kagetora: That's for sure. The second and third year students don't stand a
chance.

Miketani: If it keeps going this way, the 1st Year Class B will go up
against 1st Year Class C. How did you set that up?

Kagetora: Weeeell, everything is finally in place now. Your problem from
one year ago, it's time to get it settled. (Okami vs Jakou)

Jakou thinks: A year ago, because of a volleyball incident...

Jakou thinking: ...I was considered an inefficient manager for the team. It
caused my ambition to be on record as the youngest female Vice-Principal
ever was ruined. I won't let those shitty little brats interfere with my
plans again.

Jakou: Sahara-kun, it's time.

Rika: It's a clear victory. Clear victory. We've already made it to the
finals. Congratulations.

Sign: It's too soon for that.

Guy: Because of you, Okami-kun, we don't have a chance of getting into the
story.

Sign: In front of him (Okami), he uses "kun".

He probably calls him "Okami" without the "kun" behind his back. But where
Okami can hear him, he uses "kun" respectfully to stay in good graces with
him.

Guy: By the way, are you aware that my name is "Masaru".

Okami: Didn't know.

Girl: Want some juice?

Rika thinks: Thank goodness. Okami-kun, little by little is getting closer
to his classmates. What a refreshing development. It's true, this is how
youth is supposed to be.

Girl: Again, she's off in mind again.

Guy: Just leave her be.

Okami: Rika-chan, Sahara asked us to go get a new ball.

Rika: My guess is that this storage building is no longer in use.

Okami: Probably so. But Sahara...

Rika thinks: This place brings back the test answer incident.

Sahara: How odd.

The door is closed behind Rika and Okami.

Okami: WHAT?!

Rika: WHO?!

Jakou: Oh, so this is the place (where the test answers were sold). Uh-huh.
This place is far enough away from the others to be a good place to take
care of certain misdoings. Be good here until the finals are over, won't
you?

Rika: Jako(u)-sensei!

Okami: YOU BATTLEAX! THIS IS BULLSHIT! OPEN IT!

Rika: HOW MEAN! YOU BULLY! ELIZA! I'LL TELL THE PRINCIPAL!

She's calling her Eliza, based on a character from "Candy Candy". Eliza,
from the story, always harassed Candy.

Jakou: Silence! Who the hell is Eliza? Just go ahead and tell him and I'll
tell him that Sahara-kun is my helper.

Whenever Candy would complain, Eliza would say "Silence!" just the Jakou
just did....adding to the author's joke.

Rika: SA-SAHARA-KUN!

Sahara: Sorry. When the finals are over, I'll get back here right away.

Rika: WAIT! OPEN IT! SAHARA-KUN! HOW COME?!
